My first attempts-2004

When Eric and I recieved our first digital camera in 2004 we didn't use it for much other than documenting events. Things that happend, places we went etc. I thought a simple point-and-shoot camera (Fuji Finepix) couldn't be used to create artistic compositions, but as we fiddled with it we found it really was capable of some beautiful photography. Here are some of my first practice shots:

A dead tree trunk stuck into a sand dune on Lake Michigan.

The same tree from a different angle.

The camera had only 2 megapixels so the quality of the details is not great, but these shots really started my ineterest in digital photography. I realized that photography can be a very rewarding, creative and inexpensive (even free) hobby that provides a lot of enjoyment. We love going geocaching (http://www.geocaching.com/) and it takes us to unique and interesting locations all over the country. There is always something inspiring to photograph, just keep your eyes open!

I'm going to look through all of my old photos and post some more interesting ones soon.

  1. Donna! I am so glad you have a blog! Brought a smile to my face to find you, or maybe it was the other way around... =)

I love these shots - I had to look again after you said it was the same post. Very interesting. Can't wait to see more.

    Love you!
